muaklekOvernight Weekend Trip with SSS Heritage Section to Thai Danish Dairy Farm in Muak Lek : Saturday/Sunday 23. & 24. November 2013.

SSS LogoJoin this SSS family and friends weekend tour by bus to Muak Lek, Saraburi Province, where we will visit The Thai-Danish Dairy Farm in Muak Lek, beautifully situated in the foothills of Khao Yai National Park.

Saturday:
10.00 AM –  Departure by bus from the back entrance (the Parking area), of Rembrandt Hotel, Sukhumvit Soi 20. Transportation will be in two mini-buses or if we are more than 30 participants by a big tour bus. So far, we are 10 participants – six adults and four kids.

12.00 AM – In Muak Lek village we will have lunch at an affiliated restaurant near The Thai-Danish Dairy Center. The place is down to earth, lot of space also for the kids, but the food is magnificent, based on the best raw materials from the area.

Bottle Feeding the Calves
14.00 – 17.00 PM  – We will visit the dairy farm. A guide will transport us by tractor around the large estate established by the Danish agricultural organisations in 1962 and show us the cows, the original stables and the rich pastures. We will be provided soft drinks etc.
At the farm, we will watch a short historical film about the Danish initiative that led to the establishment of the farm in Muak Lek. In this, HM King Frederik IX of Denmark and HM King Bhumibol of Thailand, play important roles.

At the exhibition area there is a playground, where the children for example can learn how to milk a cow by hand! Grown ups are most welcome to try too.

Snobroed
