Postcard from Norway: Greenhouse Dreams & Birthday Feasts

Greetings from the land of midnight sun and unpredictable skies! 
After spending a few wonderful weeks in Norway, we’re slowly settling into our summer rhythm. One of our proudest accomplishments so far? Erecting a brand-new greenhouse! 
While it’s still waiting for its leafy residents, it’s already a cozy shelter from the classic Nordic “unweather.” There’s room for 4–6 warm-blooded humans and (eventually) a jungle of plants 
.
Furniture has arrived too – a dining table and chairs for six , perfectly placed for those occasional outdoor meals when the weather gods show mercy. We’re even considering adding a tent … because in Norway, you never know what the skies will bring!
We’ve enjoyed watching the small wonders of nature too – like the moment we spotted a crayfish that had made itself a home in a snail shell. A Norwegian combination, indeed! 
And this Sunday, we held a “common birthday” for all family members who’ve had a birthday since New Year 
– conveniently timed with mine, though I rarely make a fuss about it. Still, it was a lovely gathering filled with smiles, sunshine, and simple joys.
