TSCC, SSS and SWEA are pleased to invite you to take part in a unique and meaningful 2-day tour to Thailand’s rural Buriram Province.
This charity trip is organised to support Mechai Pattana Bamboo School in Buriram – an innovative secondary school engaged in community development, and established to become a lifelong learning center for all, as well as a hub for social and economic advancement in surrounding villages. The school is founded by Mr. Mechai Viravaidya, who is an internationally recognized leader in public health, education and community development.
Support the school, while experiencing hands-on workshops and extra-curricular activities led by the school students themselves. What’s more, enjoy a fully packed 2-day programme with additional pitstop activities in Korat and Kao Yai!
Tour & activities/workshop at the school, (led by the students)
Transportation: Roundtrip fare in comfortable VIP bus/or van
Food: 3 meals at the school (Day 1: dinner, Day 2: breakfast & lunch)
Accommodation: “Student-run homestay”, AC-room, 2 single beds & private bathroom (share your room: SAVE 500 THB)
Additional pitstop activities: Lunch and visit to Suranaree University of Technology (Day 1), Vineyard Tour, wine tasting & light meal at Granmonte Vineyard in Kao Yai (Day 2)
Interesting facts
School fees are paid in the form of community service and tree planting
Students are responsible for recruitment of new teachers
A business loan fund is made available for students to engage in group businesses
The students are required to sit in a wheelchair for one day per month to experience the realities and difficulties of a person with disability

Today, with the help of the private sector, over one hundred small
rural schools have begun to adopt this concept and have begun to
take on a greater role in their surrounding communities.

companies, which will go towards the cost of operating the schools
in the form of student scholarships. Please be noted that 200% of
the donated amount can be deducted from your taxes. If you would

12.00: Arrive in Nakhon Ratchasima (“Korat”): lunch meeting on “Korat – The Gateway to Isaan” with local business people and university representatives from Suranaree University of Technology**
14.00: Leave Korat and head towards Bamboo School
15.30-18.30: Arrive at Bamboo School, followed by;

❖ Out of season limes
❖ Solar-cell flashlights
❖ Shirt and mug printing
❖ Growing hydroponic vegetables
❖ Wheelchair agriculture
18.30: Dinner at Bamboo School and optional games/play with students
08.00: Breakfast at Bamboo School
09.00: School-Based Integrated Rural Development (School-BIRD) experience community outreach by students and staff
12.00: Lunch at Bamboo School
13.00: Leave for GranMonte Vineyard in Asoke Valley, Kao Yai
16.00: Arrive at GranMonte Vineyard
16.15: Guided tour of the beautiful Vineyard & Winery, including wine tasting & a light dinner
19:15: Leave GranMonte and head back to BKK
21.30: Arrive in BKK
