General TNGS Rules
Thai Nordic Golf Society expect that members and guest are familiar with the basic R&A rules of Golf and will play accordingly as well as follow general Golf etiquette. Local rules will be advised on the day of tournaments
Each Player is expected to be his own guardian and follow the rules and if in doubt ask another member of his group for advise and if any doubts you are always welcome to clarify with the Captains after the tournament.
We do not encourage members acting as rules officials as we are a society based on amateur golfers, and never forget the first rule, all participants must have fun as per rule 1
Guest will be using system 36 to determine Handicaps for the day and members will be using HCP as determined by the TNGS handicap guidelines, here
The Captain and his Country team Captains will be happy to answer any rules question before or after a tournament is played, but please remember rule 1
Tournament formats
Tournaments are played on a monthly basis from August to June (10 times per year) as listed under tournament plan
We generally Tee off from following Tee Markers as follow:
Red : Ladies & Senior, Members over 80 years, Juniors below 13 years
White : Remain players (at time other markers will be used)
Stableford system is used at each tournaments and there will be a monthly winner, second and third place for Gold and Silver Flights, Handicaps is determining the scoring.
Guests handicaps will be determined by using Callaway System and we have one trophy for the winner of the guest group.
All players will be competing for following technical prices, Hole in one, Albatross, Eagles, Closest to Pin, Birdies and longest drive female/male.

TNGS Handicapping system
Thai Nordic Golfers Society recognizes official handicaps from Thai Golf Association (TGA), members are encouraged to use TGA for recording Handicaps.
TNGS will accept other official Handicaps recognized by an official Golfing authority as example Thailand Golf Association and verified by the country team captain.
The country team captains can decide to allow other methods such as apps to be used for verifying handicaps. The committee reserves the rights to adjust handicaps at any time based on mutual agreements between players and committee members.
New players who do not hold a official Handicaps will be playing as a guest for minimum 3 Tournaments within 6 tournaments to verify the ability. Based on the scoring the Captains will determine a playing Handicap.
After each tournament, the Captains will evaluate the scoring of each player to adjust Handicaps for coming tournaments.
The committee reserves the right to disqualify any player that break the ethics of Golf and does not understand Rule No.1
